Welcome
A message from Alex Boussioutas, Chair, GESA AGW 2016 Scientific Program Committee
We invite you to join us for Australian Gastroenterology Week 2016 themed “Innovations in Medicine”, to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide, South Australia, from Monday, October 10, 2016 to Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
We also welcome multi-disciplinary colorectal cancer screening researchers to the meeting. They will have a major presence with concurrent sessions on Monday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 11.
The Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW) is the only forum in Australia where scientists and clinicians engaged in gastroenterology and hepatology can meet, learn and share ideas. International world leaders in endoscopy, hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease, will also enrich the meeting. Since the inaugural meeting, GESA AGW has grown in attendance from 25 to over 1,000 medical practitioners, surgeons, researchers and allied health professionals from across the Asia Pacific region.
Over three days the program themed “Innovations in Medicine” has been designed to encourage interaction between various interest groups in concurrent scientific and educational sessions (including State-of-the-Art lectures, Translational Symposia, free papers and poster presentations).
There will be many opportunities to socialise at the GESA AGW, with activities culminating in the Congress Dinner on Tuesday evening. Adelaide is a city that offers the physical and emotional space to breathe. There is a sense of freedom—of expression, of movement, of thought. With a diverse and eclectic array of accessible experiences, it’s a city that allows time for immersion, paired with a sense of space and freedom that actively encourages true indulgence.
GESA AGW continues to be the focal point of GESA’s activities and I encourage your active participation. On behalf of the committee, I invite you to join us at GESA AGW 2016.
